I learned to live only because
Of your kisses bestowed upon me
Before every slumber
And every awakening
With you beside me
I learned to trust
I learned to care
I learned to hope
I learned to dream
With you in my life
I was nurtured to bloom
To bear fruits
From within the very core
Of my arid soul
With you holding me
Close to your heart
I gained strength
I gained courage
I gained wisdom
The very moment you walked
Into my world
I was born anew
I rose from the open grave
Of the dying souls
But now...
Thinking of the time
When you no longer
Be by my side...
Slowly...
... I start dying inside
...Again

Fantastic poem. You are a genius.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautirul images. I would give anything to have a fullsize of your avatar, I could write poetry to that.
ReplyDeleteYour poetry is very bittersweet like mine.
I have a friend who wrote a poem called Wishes. Her name is Callula, she is in my blogroll on Wordpress.
She ends her poem with the sentence "It's not over until I'm over you."
I told her that was such a profound expression and I feel the same thing with this poem.
It's very beautiful and bittersweet. Just that beautiful sadness that I love to read and write so much.
Thank you for following my blog, I haven't been writing very much the last couple of weeks. That and I've been in this process of moving work to my blog on Wordpress.
It's raining here tonight, you think some words would find me. I feel so melancholy but I love the rain.
Peace.
Great poem. Your thoughts come straight from your heart.
